all sorts of dads · all welcome

A row of cartoon dads of all sorts, different ages, hair, hats and beards

What's the story?

Lads2Dads is a peer-led space where dads in Cork get together and have the chats they probably aren't having anywhere else. The good days, the long nights, the bits nobody warned you about.

No therapists. No clipboards. No agenda. Just a circle of fathers, new, old, step, single, in-between, drinking tea, drinking coffee, talking like grown men who actually know each other.

You can come once. You can come every month. You can sit there and say absolutely nothing the first time. We'll still save you a bolster (it's a yoga studio, no chairs, you'll cope).

"You don't have to have it all figured out to belong here."

What to expect

  • Not a bit. Plenty of lads come for weeks and just listen. If you want to talk, talk. If you don't, don't. The bolster is yours either way (yoga studio, no chairs, you'll live).

What the lads say

"Didn't realise how much I needed a room full of fellas who weren't going to fix me."
Step-dad of two
"As a dad it's easy to forget yourself in the chaos. Having a space to reflect, to share and to open up in helped me to process things that I didn't even know were weighing me down. And that was after only half a session 😂"
Maurice, Cork dad
"Being able to talk openly and realise everyone has challenges and we're all just trying to figure it out as best we can. I go to help me be a better dad."
Markus, dad of 1 boy (almost 2)
"This group was here for me at the very toughest moments of fatherhood. Without them I don't know where I'd be."
Finbarr (dad of two)
